In August 1969, Avernell Rogers brought together women who were eager to make a meaningful impact in their community and led the founding of the GFWC Azalea City Woman’s Club (ACWC). For 57 years, ACWC has continued to enrich Valdosta and beyond through dedicated service and innovative programs. Focusing on Arts & Culture, Civic Engagement & Outreach, Environment, Education & Libraries, and Health & Wellness, the club has worked tirelessly to strengthen the community and help create a better world for all.
